Abdullah ibn Abbas (r.a) - an exemplary friend!
The servitude and eagerness of Abdullah ibn Abbas (r.a) towards Muhammad (s.a.w) resulted in a tight bond between the two. Such closeness should make us reflect on what true friendship means in Islam - is it based upon short-term interests and material gains, or brotherhood, collectively seeking Jannah and the pleasure of Allah (swt)?
