Saudi Arabia has announced estimated resources of around 114 million tonnes of ore in the Jabal Sayid project in the Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region, containing rare earth minerals and uranium concentrations, alongside plans to develop a local value chain extending to the production of yellowcake.

On 11 October, President Zardari signed the notification imposing governor’s rule and an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the advice of the federal government.
