Nafsiya Reflections: Foundation of Lies

One would think, in a country that so proudly professes to be just, upright, gives everyone their rights and allows their people to have their freedoms – man would be safe in expressing his feelings, thoughts and emotions. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The Western world - especially the US – apparently is the beacon of light, the most civilized of all -leaders of the globe, boasts about how only they can save the world from backwardness with their secular liberal values. YET...We have recently seen shocking footage being released of student/teacher protests in university campuses where women especially have been violently beaten, thrashed and quite literally forcefully thrown about! They’ve been treated so inhumanely by law enforcement in order to dissolve their encampments on university campuses across the states, which by the way, is perfectly legal and law abiding. They have been arrested and dragged across their premises in ways even criminals wouldn’t be handled. Where is their right to express? Where is their freedom of speech? Where is their right to protection and sense of security?

Women have been threatened, shamed, cursed whilst they demonstrate their stance in ending the genocide, ending the killing of innocent elderly, women and children and cutting off all supplies aiding the genocide! So, this is Western gender equality?! A society where women are equally brutalized as men, for accounting governments on corrupt policies. Where are all the Feminists now? Where are they to cry to the leaders to question how dare they treat women this way?!

The University campus pro-Palestinian demonstrations proved no threatening behaviors, no signs of possible violence and kept their message and demands pretty clear with no proof of provocations. However, because it came to exposing the Zionist entity and her crimes, it’s deemed unacceptable and therefore they’ve been labeled as threats and anti-Semitic. This has justified the mishandling and abuse of the participants, irrespective of backgrounds, ethnicities and religions. Aside from being appalling and an embarrassment for the upholders of civil liberties, this crackdown unveils a selective valorization of free speech in America: upheld when it aligns with governmental narratives but suppressed when it challenges them!! In other words, democracy is a bedrock of corruption, lies and bigotry. It gives many promises and assurances to its people, which in essence, is outright nonsense!!

Under Islam’s implementation, every citizen, dhimmi and non-dhimmi, were truly given their haqq, their rights! A person was viewed as valuable. He was not discriminated against, justice was based on usool and no one was above the law. Women need not to worry about their honour being harmed, men need not worry about being thrown in prison for accounting his rulers or leaders. Being abused violently and mishandled was not even in question!

RasulAllah (saw) said, “Indeed, the Imam is a shield, from behind whom you fight and by whom you are protected.” [Muslim]

We pray to Allah (swt) to accept as well as guide to the right path and grant strength to all those who have stood up against the barbarism of this genocide and May HE (swt)give us our Imam, our caliph, our leader under whom the entire Ummah shall be protected once and for all. Ameen
