Following a grotesque personal smear campaign against one of our members by both media and politicians—based solely on his Islamic expressions and values—all three parties of the Danish government have now renewed their political call to ban Hizb ut Tahrir in Denmark. This is far from the first time Danish politicians have played the “ban card” out of ideological desperation. The Director of Public Prosecutions has, on three separate occasions, found that there is no constitutional basis for such a ban.

Hizb ut Tahrir is globally known for not using violence, but instead working purely through political and intellectual means. That fact is not altered by politically motivated rulings against several of our members for openly calling for the liberation of Palestine. On the contrary! Every time a political wish to ban us is raised, it brings successive Danish governments closer to their friends and allies in torture states, where political opponents and people with different values are persecuted for their beliefs and expressions.

It is precisely such despotic regimes in the Muslim world that Hizb ut Tahrir seeks to overthrow in order to establish an Islamic state and societal order—a Caliphate—in accordance with the conviction and history of the Muslim populations – again, in the Muslim lands.

The lie that we are working to overthrow Danish society has been refuted countless times, and these refutations require little effort to find and verify. The only possible explanation is that these politicians, against their better knowledge, are deliberately inciting hatred and fear to crack down on socially engaged Muslims who refuse to kneel at the secular altar, through bans and coercion.

This exposes the staggering hypocrisy of the very same political actors who, for generations, have lectured Muslims that they must endure all manner of provocations and discriminatory laws in the name of “freedom of expression.” At the same time, it underlines the emptiness and deep fragility of the secular Western "values" that cannot withstand being challenged by Islamic views and ideas. The Constitution, the separation of powers, and the principle of free speech all seem to be inconvenient obstacles to these politicians who have no response to Islam’s values other than attempts at intimidation.

In this way, liberal secular democracy signs its own declaration of bankruptcy. Neither the full force of state power nor the propaganda and lies of the media apparatus have managed to convince Muslims that they should abandon their values in favor of those promoted by the rulers at Christiansborg and Berlingske Media.

But that should come as no surprise. What decent person would wish to adhere to values that legitimize ethnic cleansing, the collective starvation of civilians, and genocide?!

We will not be subdued by punishment or prohibition – not by anyone – and certainly not by valueless, genocide-supporting hypocrites. Our work continues successfully, by the grace of Allah.
