Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah Syria: Constitutional Insights “The system of government in Islam is a unique and distinguished system!”
The system of government in Islam is a unique and distinct system that expresses our identity, civilization, and the glory of our Islam. Glory lies in Islam’s application, and humiliation and misery lie in Islam’s exclusion and alienation. It is not permissible for government to be a democratic system in which legislation is for humans, instead of Allah ﷻ. It is not permissible for governance to be a monarchy, an empire, or anything else, because these are man-made systems that have plundered the country, caused hardship to its people, and spread corruption on earth. There is no security, no glory, and no happiness for Muslims, except through a system of government that pleases Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ and a pure Islamic constitution derived from the Book of Allah ﷻ and the Sunnah of His Prophet ﷺ. Through Islam, we are honored and elevated, and without Islam, we are humiliated and disgraced. It is time for us to please Allah ﷻ without fearing the East or West, for Allah Alone is more deserving to be feared by us. Allah ﷻ said, “How do you fear them? Allah is more deserving of your fear, if you are believers.” [TMQ Surah at-Tawba 13]. Yes, it is time for us to strive to end the governance of tyrannical ruling that has made our Ummah taste woes and led us to destruction. It is time for the bulk of our concern, interest, effort, and energy to be directed toward establishing the ruling by Islam, through the Islamic State, the Khilafah (Caliphate), whose time has now come and whose era has arrived, Allah ﷻ willing, after decades of humiliation, degradation, oppression, the domination by enemies, the plundering of wealth, and the desecration of sanctities. Allah ﷻ said, “And We desired to bestow favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them heirs.” [TMQ Surah al-Qasas 5].
