Tom Barrack’s Statements Regarding Lebanon’s Return as Part of ash-Sham!

On July 12, 2025, in an interview with Arab News, Tom Barrack revealed that the US had facilitated secret talks between Lebanon and the usurping Jewish entity. He said, “The United States facilitated behind-the-scenes talks between Lebanon and ‘Isreal’, things are moving at a rapid pace”! He stated that there was communication between the new regime in Syria and the Jews, saying: "I noticed that Syria is moving with lightning speed to seize the historic opportunity provided by the lifting of sanctions ... and diplomatic engagement with neighboring countries"! He also stated that if Lebanon does not move toward the American solution, it will return to the Levant. "Trump was brave in giving Syria a chance, and what has happened since the Western intervention and the Sykes-Picot Agreement has not been good..."! He also said, "If Lebanon does not move, it will return to Bilad al-Sham [the Levant]".

It has become clear that America is rushing to somehow include Lebanon and Syria in the Abraham Accords, which were signed during Trump’s first presidential term between 2017 and 2021. America is also rushing to integrate the Jewish entity into the region through these agreements, making it seem like a natural entity within them. This is especially true with the presence of these haughty, agent rulers who are yearning for more years of rule, to plunder and loot the Islamic Ummah’s resources, especially after the discovery of gas resources on the shores of the Mediterranean. In this context, Barrack said, “If Lebanon doesn’t hurry up and get in line, everyone around them will”.

However, America sees that Lebanon’s situation and composition complicate rapid movement. America is with Lebanon like someone riding a bicycle, whose tires and chains have mud and nails, that hinder its rapid movement, slowed by sects with sprawling loyalties, and politicians who are accustomed to ruling the country in their own way, like a farm that generates wealth for them and their men. This was clearly indicated by Barrack. He expressed his regret over the country’s failing institutions, its defunct central bank, a stalled banking resolution law, and systemic gridlock in parliament.

American politicians in this Trump era are real estate brokers and traders who use every possible means to achieve their goals, led by their master Trump, whose vulgar commercial dealings the world sees as a means to achieve his demands. Tom Barrack is one of these people. He is of Lebanese origin and knows the history of the region and the provocative matters in it. Therefore, it is as if his statements come in the context of a “scarecrow” that he places in the face of every slow-moving person. The stance is that either you keep up with the train of concessions and normalization, or we will catch up with you or force you to whoever is able to do so. They are your neighbors who preceded you in communicating with the Jews, even though they do not have what you have.

It is as if he were saying in another language, if you do not join the train of normalization and surrender, the danger looming over you and us is your loss of Lebanon and your dominance over it by returning it to its original state. If that happens, there is no place for us or you in this equation, so speed up your work. His words are meant as a grave warning, not a fanciful threat, especially since he later elaborated his words via tweets. However, the invocation of these terms, such as “Bilad al-Sham,” indicates fear-mongering and intimidation responding to procrastination. In fact, in one of his tweets, he invoked a statement by Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, “I do not apply my sword where my lash suffices, nor my lash where my tongue suffices. If there be but one hair binding me to my fellow men, I do not let it break”. These are all messages he is sending to move matters quickly. Indeed, the sects in Lebanon are the ones pushing in this direction by invoking the negative connotations they see of returning to the fold of Bilad al-Sham, or the fold of the Khilafah (Caliphate)! For these people, normalization, surrender, and remaining watchmen under Western control are better than returning to the original state.

Beyond this warning, pushing the country to rush into concessions would be contrary to the course of action taken by America and its administrations, to fragment the remaining bonds of the Islamic Ummah and steal its resources, especially in light of the international race for gas and strategic minerals and America’s economic conflict with China.

These statements, despite their threat and arrogance, reflect a single reality. It is that the Islamic project, which seeks to unify the Ummah, and is manifested through the establishment of a Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, has begun to worry decision-making circles in Washington and redraw the calculations of hegemony and influence in the region, both for Washington and for the Jews themselves, who, through Netanyahu, clearly expressed their fears of the establishment of a Caliphate on the shores of the Mediterranean, and has even expressed his readiness to strike it wherever it is established.

Perhaps what Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Lebanon wrote at the end of its leaflet publication, issued on July 15, 2025 is a true expression of what can be said in this context, because the word Bilad al-Sham touched and touches the people of the region with hope and desire.

The publication stated, “O Muslims, we call upon you to be the ones who shape your future with your own hands, not with the hands of the West, nor through conspiratorial conferences, nor through the threats and statements of ambassadors and envoys. Be as Allah intended you to be: one Ummah, not Eastern nor Western, leading, not being led; ruling by Islam, not by Sykes-Picot systems. Return Lebanon with your own hands to its true origin - a part of Ash-Sham, and more broadly, a part of the Muslim lands...”, and these statements are an implicit admission that the political Islamic project, “has exposed that this Islamic political project the Khilafah is the only true competitor to the American project, and that the real fear in Washington and among the Jews is from the return of the Khilafah that will unify the Ummah and end subservience.”
