Despite Evident Conflict between Europe and America, America Demands Leadership Over Europe
News:
On 14 February 2026, during the Munich Security Conference, attended by all the major European powers, the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, stated, “For the United States and Europe, we belong together.” (Source)
Comment:
After this key statement, Rubio then made a case of why Europe must stand with America, stating, “We are part of one civilization – Western civilization. We are bound to one another by the deepest bonds that nations could share, forged by centuries of shared history, Christian faith, culture, heritage, language, ancestry, and the sacrifices our forefathers made together for the common civilization to which we have fallen heir.”
Indeed, the commonality of Western states is painfully obvious to the Islamic Ummah. The Islamic Ummah faced the First Crusade, launched by Western powers in 1096. Over subsequent centuries, the Western powers repeatedly attacked the Islamic Ummah, focusing upon the heart of the Abode of Islam, ash-Sham. Then, after the destruction of the shield (junnah) of the Ummah, the Khilafah, in 1924 CE, 1342 AH, America has led Western powers in its occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, and in its extensive support of the occupation of Muslim Lands by the Jewish entity and the Hindu State. And more recently, America has led Western powers in the political, media, economic and military support of the Jewish entity, as it attacked ash-Sham, including Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria.
However, despite the commonality between America and Europe, the Western powers are divided because they pursue disparate material interests. Throughout its history, Europe has been crippled by wars between its constituent states, including the two World Wars. America itself fought European colonialism to achieve independence, and now struggles fiercely to remove remaining European influence. Even after speaking about commonality, it must be noted that Rubio could not avoid addressing the current principle point of conflict between America and Europe, the dismantling of international institutions in which Europe has influence. Rubio openly undermined the United Nations, saying, “For example, the United Nations still has tremendous potential to be a tool for good in the world. But we cannot ignore that today, on the most pressing matters before us, it has no answers and has played virtually no role.”
Rubio then insulted Europe, within the heart of Europe, by bringing examples of how he thinks that America has succeeded, where the United Nations failed. He said, “It could not solve the war in Gaza. Instead, it was American leadership that freed captives from barbarians and brought about a fragile truce. It had not solved the war in Ukraine. It took American leadership and partnership with many of the countries here today just to bring the two sides to the table in search of a still-elusive peace. It was powerless to constrain the nuclear program of radical Shia clerics in Tehran. That required 14 bombs dropped with precision from American B-2 bombers. And it was unable to address the threat to our security from a narcoterrorist dictator in Venezuela. Instead, it took American Special Forces to bring this fugitive to justice.” Thus, Rubio rubbed salt in the wounds of the European powers, who have all raised objections to the resurgence in American unilateralism.
For its part, America wants to secure its interests, without any obstacles from Europe. America is pushing the United Nations Security Council to the side, avoiding the veto powers of Britain and France, the key powers within Europe. America is then arrogantly demanding that Europe accepts subjugation to its will. As for Europe, it is burdened by weak leaderships that cannot effectively oppose American dominance. The leaderships of Europe confine themselves to condemnations, when there are many bold political, military and economic options to escape from American dominance. Even Europe’s attempts to undermine Trump’s alternative to the United Nations, the Board of Peace, are weak and ineffective. In addition, Europe has the same civilization as America, as Rubio mentioned, and so does not offer humanity any true alternative to America. Indeed, much of the world suffered previously from wide reaching European colonialism, just as it suffers today from American colonialism.
O Islamic Ummah and its Armies!
There is no expression that it better than the Speech of Allah (swt) to describe the conflict between the US and Europe. Allah (swt) said,
[بَأْسُهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ شَدِيدٌ ۚ تَحْسَبُهُمْ جَمِيعًا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ شَتَّىٰ] “Their enmity is great among themselves. You would think they are united, but their hearts are divided.” [TMQ Surah Al-Hashr: 14]. The Shariah Qaidah (Islamic principle) is العِبرةُ بعُمومِ اللَّفظِ أو بخُصوصِ السَّبَبِ “The expression is by the generality of the wording and not by the specificity of the cause of revelation.” It is a fact that the kuffar were divided in the time of the Prophet (saw), just as it is a fact that the kuffar are divided today. Despite their shared enmity towards Islam, the Western powers are crippled by internal conflict.
The issue for the Islamic Ummah is not just to know this fact, but to use it as an opportunity in order to establish the dominance of Islam. It is not enough for the Ummah to be a mere spectator as the most corrupt leaderships on the face of the earth compete over the riches of humanity, as if it were spoils of war for them. The Islamic Ummah must fulfill its Shariah obligation to become a practical actor on the world stage, leading humanity from the narrowness of Western colonialism to the justice of Islam. For centuries, through ruling by the justice of Islam, the Islamic Ummah led humanity in all spheres of life. Today, the Islamic Ummah alone has the Deen of Truth as a civilizational alternative to grant humanity relief. It has the Islamic Aqeedah (doctrine), which enables it to make huge sacrifices to secure the dominance of Islam. In addition, despite decades of looting by the Western powers, the Islamic Ummah has the lion’s share of the world’s most important material resources. All that is missing is a leadership that rules by Islam and unifies the Ummah as one Khilafah (Caliphate) state. O Muslims, let Ramadan, the month of blessings and victories, be filled with righteous deeds to re-establish the ruling the Book of Allah (swt)! Gather around the shebaab of Hizb ut Tahrir, and strive as they strive, joining their night with their days, to earn the Nasr of Allah (swt).
