The Silent War: A Generation’s Call to Rebuild

Look around you. The world is not quieter; it has simply grown accustomed to the screams. It has normalized the headlines of children starving in a world of surplus, of graduates scrolling through job rejections in a booming economy, and of justice being auctioned to the highest bidder. We were told the arc of the moral universe bends toward justice, but what do you do when the hands meant to bend it have gone slack?

Until 3 March 1924, there was a bastion against this decay: The Islamic Khilafah. It was more than a ruling system for Muslims but a shield for humanity that looked after the affairs of the people. A collective of Ulema, young thinkers, Scientists, future leaders and many more, who refused to accept the contradictions of our time.

They dissected the roots of Kufr and oppression that fuels grotesque human disparity. They stood as shields for oppressed nation of humanity facing systemic injustice, and as amplifiers for voices silenced by social and judicial prejudice. They connected the dots between political decline, cultural plunder, and the erosion of our most basic morals. They cultured intellect not for power but to protect, to provide, and to prosecute societal, educational, political judicial wrongs in the court of public action.

In the absence of the Islamic state or the Khilafah ruling system, the ghosts we fought have returned, not as specters, but as conquerors. Mass murder justified by equality, freedom, human rights terrorism. Rape is used as a weapon of subjugation. Unemployment is used as a life sentence for an entire generation. Pollution of our planet and our discourse. The calculated deprivation of basic human rights—education, clean water, food, the very right to an opinion—has become a standard tool of control. The decline was not gradual; it was a dam breaking. The peak you feel is real.

Every nation has its defining moments in history—times of great change that people remember for generations. The story of the Muslim Ummah is filled with such powerful times. Emerging in the 7th century, Islamic civilization did not merely rise; it ignited a new dawn, disseminating from the heart of the Madina to horizons afar. This was not conquest for dominion alone, but a vehicle for enlightenment, carrying with it an unprecedented flourishing of knowledge, culture, and human progress. To study its history is to walk through a gallery of pivotal events, each a testament to a journey that irrevocably shaped the world.

This legacy of transformative moments is not confined to distant epochs; it is embedded in the very rhythm of the Islamic calendar. Consider the sacred month of Rajab which one out of the four sacred months—a time of immense spiritual magnitude, most notably commemorating the Prophet Muhammad's (saw) miraculous Night Journey and Ascension (Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj). Indeed, Rajab alone has witnessed at least four pivotal events that redirected the course of history, standing as a powerful testament to how moments of divine grace and deep loss are woven into the fabric of the Ummah's enduring narrative.

The month of Rajab holds profound significance in Islamic history through four pivotal events.

The first is Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj in 620 CE, the Prophet Muhammad's (saw) miraculous night journey from Makkah to Jerusalem and through the heavens. This divine ascension occurred at a critical moment of personal loss and heightened persecution, serving as a profound spiritual reassurance.

The second is the Battle of Tabuk in 9 AH. Facing the threat of a Byzantine invasion, the Prophet (saw) led a formidable army of 30,000 Muslims on a grueling march. Their show of strength caused the enemy forces to retreat without battle, cementing Islamic authority over the entire Arabian Peninsula.

The third is the Liberation of Jerusalem by Salah al-Din in 583 AH (1187 CE). Following his decisive victory at the Battle of Hittin, he marched into the city, ending nearly a century of Crusader rule. This reconquest was a major turning point, securing one of Islam's most sacred sites and decisively reversing Crusader momentum.

Fourth is the day when the Ummah lost the legacy of Prophet Mohammad (saw) the Khilafah, on 3 March 1924. Khilafah was not only a ruling system for Muslims but also the protector and shield of humanity. Ever since the fall of Khilafah at the hands of Mustafa Kamal Ata Turk, the Ummah has seen a rapid decline in all walks of life. The colonialist kuffar (disbelievers) left no time in dividing the One whole Muslim land into different nation states and started plundering and looting the wealth of the Ummah. The value of Muslim men women and children became less than mere commodity.

A person may think, while observing the latest developments at the global level and in the Islamic lands, that the reality is becoming increasingly bleak and dark for the Islamic Ummah, that hope for its revival and the restoration of its honor is fading or diminishing. However, contemplation of these developments shows that they reveal a hope that is renewed and deepening, and an approach toward revival day after day.

The enduring strength of the Ummah has cultivated a robust sense of identity, resisting assimilation into Western culture. The West has come to understand that maintaining secular control over Muslim lands relies heavily on repression and coercion. In response to emerging revolts and the desire to escape these imposed conditions, the West tightens its grip, often resorting to overwhelming force. This includes deploying agents to carry out attacks on cities and unleash violence against the most vulnerable—children, women, and the defenseless. Thus, it can be said that the colonial West is actively shaping public perception in Muslim regions through its bombings and brutal tactics.

Last but not the least the blatant betrayal of the Muslim leaders Like Sisi blocking the food supply to the suffering people of Gaza and closing Rafah crossing. Erdogan increasing trade with the Jewish entity to the tune of $10 billion; and also supplying Fuel water and food to make them keep going to plunder, kill occupy the sacred lands. MBS and other Muslin leaders standing mute spectator and showing their fire power to the Ummah of Yemen. All the Muslim leaders align with the West and bow down to the dictates and the command of the west and step aside to let the handful of illegal Jewish identity plunder the lives and wealth of the Ummah. Allah (swt) says,

“O believers! Do not take My enemies and yours as trusted allies, showing them affection even though they deny what has come to you of the truth. They drove the Messenger and yourselves out of Mecca, simply for your belief in Allah, your Lord. If you truly emigrated to struggle in My cause and seek My pleasure, ˹then do not take them as allies, disclosing secrets of the believers to the pagans out of affection for them, when I know best whatever you conceal and whatever you reveal. And whoever of you does this has truly strayed from the Right Way.” [Surah Al-Mumtahanah:1].

With the continued campaigns from the West targeting Islam and Muslims, reminiscent of colonial aggression, the Ummah has demonstrated remarkable resilience. Lacking an established Khilafah political system or the leadership of the rightly guided Khaleefah, the community has united in solidarity to confront these challenges. This steadfastness has periodically threatened to derail colonial ambitions in Muslim territories.

O Ummah of Islam! Never forget this day of 28 Rajab 1343 (3 March 1924) when The Islamic ruling was abolished and the Ummah has been in a constant state of decline. This is not a coincidence. It is a causation. When the organized, rational, and morally-anchored withdraw, the chaotic, the greedy, and the tyrannical advance. The social fabric, painstakingly mended by conscientious hands, unravels at a terrifying speed.

We ask you a simple question: In a world on fire, will you be a bystander or a builder?

This is not an option. It is a call to sharpen your intellect and your conscience. We call you to join the movement to bring back Islam into our lives. We are the best of Nations, we have been given this responsibility.

Allah (swt) said,

[كُنۡتُمۡ خَيۡرَ اُمَّةٍ اُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ تَاۡمُرُوۡنَ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ وَتَنۡهَوۡنَ عَنِ الۡمُنۡكَرِ وَتُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِاللّٰهِ]“You are now the best people brought forth for (the guidance and reform of) mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah.” [TMQ Surah Aali Imran: 110]. And He (swt) says,

[وَكَذٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ اُمَّةً وَسَطاً لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَٓاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَه۪يداًۜ] “We have made you a middlemost (responsible) community, so that you may act as witnesses against mankind and the Messenger as a witness against you.” [TMQ Surah Al-Baqarah:143]. The Prophet (saw) said,

“There will be Prophethood for as long as Allah wills it to be, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be Khilafah on the Prophetic method and it will be for as long as Allah wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be biting rule (ملكًا عاضًا) for as long as Allah Wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be oppressive rule (ملكًا جبرية) for as long as Allah wills, then he will remove it when He wills, and then there will be Khilafah upon the Prophetic method.’ Then he (saw) was silent.” (Narrated by Ahmed in his Musnad)

With this glad tiding of the Prophet (saw) we call our brothers in Islam hasten towards the call of good and eradicate the evil in this blessed month of Rajab.
