 News Right Now: The Rift

On September 8th, our brother in Islam Maher Thiab Al-Jazi killed three “Israeli” border patrol guards at the Allenby Crossing before being martyred himself by the security officer on duty. According to Al Jazeera, “The retaliation marks the first of its kind along the border with Jordan since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October.” The Allenby Crossing, also known as the King Hussain Bridge, is a land crossing between the occupied West Bank of the Blessed Land of Palestine and Jordan used for the delivery of goods which supply both the West Bank and “Israel.” Al Jazi was delivering a load of commercial goods by truck prior to ascending to martyrdom.

While the Muslim leaders cowered behind pathetic condemnations of Al-Jazi’s sacrifice, our brothers and sisters in Jordan applauded and congratulated his family. The tent for condolences could hardly contain the number of people who congratulated and celebrated Al-Jazi’s ascension to martyrdom. Al-Jazi comes from the native tribe of Huwaitat who emphasized that “the blood of our martyred son is not more precious than the blood of our Palestinian people.” His act of heroism was highly praised by the head of the Al-Fayez family which leads one of the largest tribes in Jordan called Bani Sakher.

Al-Jazi’s family recounts their pride in their son’s actions. His father proclaimed “I am blessed and proud that I raised a hero and a lion cub,” He described his son’s actions as a “defense of Palestine and the Arab and Muslim nations.” His brother noted that “He used to work as a truck driver and would cross (the bridge) often to offload the truck and then return back to Jordan. But his grief over what’s happening to the Muslim nation, seeing all the killing in Gaza, and every one of us who feels passionately for his brethren, this could motivate him,” in an on-air interview.

While the family of Al-Jazi were accepting congratulations, Jordan’s government condemned his heroic act. The Jordanian monarchy continues to stumble clumsily along the tightrope that lies between suppressing the anger of its people at its support for the Zionists while sucking on the silver spoon of America’s imperialism which it succumbs to with pathetic reverence. Since the beginning of this genocide, we’ve seen footage of the streets of Jordan flooded with our brothers and sisters, screaming until their throats are raw, for justice for the Muslims of the Blessed Land of Palestine. The Jordanian monarchy has been fighting a war against its own people, attempting to stamp out any and all signs of fulfillment of Allah’s command in Surah Anfal, verse 72:

[وَإِنِ ‌اسْتَنْصَرُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ فَعَلَيْكُمُ النَّصْرُ]

“And if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help,” [Al-Anfal:72].

They demonstrate an ignorance of how Allah (swt) speaks of his creation saying in [Surah al Hujuraat Verse 10]

[إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ]

“The believers are but brethren...”

And how this sentiment is very much alive and strong in our Ummah today. Shehab News Agency reported that Jordan and Israel have thwarted over 70 operations planned by Jordanians in recent months, citing an unnamed Jordanian source. The same source mentioned that the Jordanian government chose not to disclose the shutdown of these operations. This is likely out of fear and cowardice that this information would motivate other Muslims to take what power they have and use it for the sake of avenging our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

What this shows, is a clear distinction between the people of our Ummah and the leaders which render its power and resources useless today; our Ummah is ready to sacrifice for the sake of our brothers and sisters. We see the source of victory as coming from the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and we see the path to power in his commandments to enjoin the good and forbid the evil. The leaders of our Ummah have eyes only for treachery and cowardice against the Muslims. Their vision glances past the suffering of every man, woman, and child of Palestine at the hands of the Zionists as they continue to normalize relations with them. Numb to the minimum number of 40,000 deaths of our Palestinian brothers and sisters which they could have helped prevent, their eyes only soak up the military aid and hegemony of Western powers. It is clear that while the Ummah’s vision is aimed solely at success in the Hereafter through jihad for the liberation of the Blessed Land, the Muslim rulers have tunnel vision only for the betrayal of Palestine.

O Sincere Generals of the Muslim Armies:

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

«الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ وَلَا يَحْقِرُهُ»

“A Muslim is a Muslim’s brother. He does not wrong, desert or despise him” (Sahih Muslim) Do not let the whispers of shaytan lull you into silence like those rulers who have abandoned Al-Aqsa and the Muslims of Palestine. Your barracks are full of might, power, and resources. Your soldiers are full of the love of the Messenger of Allah’s Ummah. Your command will be fortified with the promise of Allah (swt) in Surah An-Nisa, Verse 74:

[فَلْيُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ الَّذِينَ ‌يَشْرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ وَمَنْ يُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَيُقْتَلْ أَوْ يَغْلِبْ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْراً عَظِيماً]

“So let those fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. And he who fights in the cause of Allah and is killed or achieves victory - We will bestow upon him a great reward.” [An-Nisa:74].

The responsibility is yours. We call upon you to draw inspiration from the heroic actions of our brother Maher Thiab Al-Jazi and remember that the choice to mobilize and defend our brothers and sisters in Palestine can result in only two outcomes: the defeat of the Zionist enemy and freedom of Al-Aqssa, or martyrdom and everlasting peace in Paradise.
