The Zionist entity’s military have significantly escalated the killing and repression of Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem over the past two weeks - and this week in Ramadan, yet another wave of violent attacks towards worshippers in Masjid al Aqsa was played out. The first half of this month saw over 18 Palestinians killed, as the Zionist PM Naftali Bennett granted a mandate to the Israeli army to wage an unrelenting war on what was he described as terrorism on the 8th April. As the violence of the Zionist military extended to Masjid al Aqsa, worshippers were blindsided by hundreds of Zionist forces who stormed the mosque's courtyards and violently attacked men and women inside, killing over 20 worshippers, injuring more than 150 and arresting 400 other Palestinians.

However this is not the extent of the oppression. The number of martyrs is rising significantly. In other incidents this year, over 47 Palestinians, including eight children and two women were killed by the Zionist state’s forces. This number represents nearly five times the number of Palestinians killed by the same barbaric cowards in the same period last year. For Muslims this situation is way beyond mere feelings of outrage, calls to Dua and donations, and emotive speeches. It is a reality that requires the specific actions which are prescribed in the Ahkam Shariah to be enacted immediately.

The Muslim militaries are the obvious and natural opponents of the Zionist forces - so the Quran is addressing them, by making it their duty to confront the violence, oppression and occupation within the blessed land. Allah (swt) says:

(...يٰۤـاَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ حَرِّضِ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ عَلَى الۡقِتَالِ​ )

“O Prophet, urge the believers to battle...” [TMQ Surah Al-Anfaal 8:65]

Also,

(يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ جَـٰهِدِ ٱلْكُفَّارَ وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ وَٱغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ)

“O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination.” [TMQ Surah At-Tawba 9:73].

(يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمُ انفِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ۚ أَرَضِيتُم بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ ۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ(38)إِلَّا تَنفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْئًا ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ)

“O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of worldly life compared to the Hereafter except a [very] little (38). If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment and will replace you with another people, and you will not harm Him at all.” [TMQ Surah At-Tawba 9:38, 39]

The treachery of the neighbouring regimes has evolved from a deafening silence in the face of the Zionist entity’s existence - to the outright facilitation of the state’s regional objectives. Arab foreign ministers from Egypt, Bahrain, Morocco and the UAE shamelessly gathered for the Naqab Summit near the tomb of the Zionist entity’s founding Prime Minister Ben Gurion for discussions on expanding regional cooperation. Their recognition and wholehearted co-operation with Tel Aviv, has been a turning point for the Zionist entity, enabling its rise in the Arab Muslim region as it emerges as a leading force; and their message was bold and clear: “Israel” is the capstone of the emerging regional security system.

The normalisation drive via the Abraham Accords, perfectly reigned in the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco into the fold of the Zionist entity. For these weak governments, Zionist entity is seen as the gateway to the US, and each perceived that they could achieve great strategic gains by normalising relations with the Zionist entity. The UAE and Bahrain wanted to align with the Zionist entity for its advanced military and intelligence. Additionally the UAE intention to buy American F -35 fighter jets, required Israel’s tacit approval as a prerequisite.

Sudan’s shaky post-Bashir government was desperate to have the country’s name removed from the US list of terrorism sponsoring countries. The shortcut was to knock at the Zionist entity’s door, with the echo heard in Washington. Morocco, for its part, wanted to end the impasse over the intractable dispute with Algeria regarding the Western Sahara. Normalisation and trade with the Zionist state softened the US’s position on Morocco’s sovereignty in the region.

Likewise, Jordan’s King Hussein a long standing ally of the Zionist entity, is always making in-roads to further erase the true significance of the occupation. His meeting this week with Palestinian (PA) leader Mahmoud Abbas is aimed at easing tensions in the occupied West Bank. In plain language this means King Hussein will push the PA to thwart any Palestinian self defence and defence of the land, by any almost means necessary - thus complying with the Zionist state’s intentions.

The spirit of Jihad fi’sabillallah that still exists with the Muslims of Palestine is an example to the world today. While in Ramadan most of the Ummah focuses on individual ibadah the courageous men and women who defend the sacred precinct are of a caliber, the wider Ummah should aspire to. Their selflessness is the opposite of the individualism we are riddled with in the West and in secular societies - their sincerity to Allah’s command is in full recognition of our purpose in this life as slaves to the command of our Rabb.

Likewise their martyrs are the masters of martyrs as their blood is spilled in standing up to oppressors in word and deed. May Allah raise the souls of the martyrs in the pure hearts of green birds into the gardens of Al Firdous, where they may roam freely in and return to shelter in lamps beneath Allah’s throne.

‏" إِنَّ أَرْوَاحَ الشُّهَدَاءِ فِي طَيْرٍ خُضْرٍ تَعْلُقُ مِنْ ثَمَرَةِ الْجَنَّةِ أَوْ شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ ‏"

Ka’b ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the souls of martyrs are in green birds, hanging from the fruit of Paradise, or the trees of Paradise.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 1641

However courageous the Muslim of Palestine’s hearts are... the real duty of jihad fi’sabillallah lies with those with material strength - those able to muster a brute force, a systemic and strategic attack on the evil Zionist occupation. May Allah (swt) bless the immense struggle and sacrifice of the Muslim of Palestine with rewards beyond our imaginations. May He (swt) send us leaders who will raise an army unlike any other ever seen to annihilate the Zionist entity from its root, and eradicate all trace of its filthy existence; thereby returning victory to Islam and the Muslims and resetting the balance to the world.
