Welcome to News Right Now episode ‘Down with CEDAW’

Thousands of Palestinians supported rallies organized by Hizb ut Tahrir this week including a huge rally which took place in Hebron against the implementation of CEDAW (the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women). The people of Palestine announced their categorical rejection of the Family Protection Law emanating from CEDAW, which the Palestinian Authority intends to approve.

Speeches by Dr Musab Abu Arqoub, a member of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Blessed Land of Palestine and the virtuous educator Umm Abdullah highlighted how the Family Protection Law is against Islam and that women in Palestine stand with their fathers, sons, husbands and brothers in rejection of it. She said “who represents us is the one who preserves our dignity and protects our honour, and we are not satisfied with anything but Islam and its rulings that govern us”.

Hajj Abdul-Wahhab Ghaith and several notable leaders from Palestine's clans also announced their adamant rejection of CEDAW and the Palestinian Authority's ongoing attempt to pass such destructive laws undermining Islam’s family structure and its virtuous ideals. It is increasingly important that as an Ummah we understand clearly and perfectly how CEDAW aims to undermine, and eventually completely erode, the tenants of the Islamic Shariah from our hearts, minds, homes and communities.

CEDAW is essentially a directive of the UN – and is promoted as a strategy that will improve the lives of women and girls who face injustice. However it rests on the western, secular liberal view towards life, which enshrines freedom and makes personal liberty the standard by which anyone lives. Therefore the imposition of CEDAW via its many grassroots agencies is no more than a tool to reform Islam under the guise of protecting women and girls.

The NGO’s (non-governmental agencies) that enter our Islamic communities, are tasked with collecting data via interviews and polls, and they implement a wide range of seemingly benign welfare projects such as community centers, women’s health centers, and prenatal clinics. They do so under the guise of humanitarian assistance, development, and aid. However the vast majority of NGOs are funded by UN agencies and connected to global projects such as CEDAW. The values and overall objectives of such NGOs are ultimately are to reshape socio-political landscape, one community at a time, with secular liberal thoughts and emotions - such that the entire region becomes immune to western political interference, and therefore less able to further its own political autonomy based on an alternative worldview or ideology.

On April 1st 2014 the Palestinian Authority foolishly consented to CEDAW, without even submitting any misgivings about its articles. CEDAW is based on purely secular principles and values – and had removed most aspects of family life in Islam. Yet the PA didn’t even see this as worthy of dispute! The Zionist entity and shady feminist movements such as Tal’at, who fear any Islamic revival and so wish to reform Islam most, citied flawed statistics on the need for protection from gender based violence; encouraging the PA to approve CEDAW - although scholars and tribal leaders rejected the UN treaty insisting the PA withdraw from the convention.

However this week’s protests organized by Hizb ut Tahrir, reached deep into the heart of the Palestinian towns and cities, mobilizing Palestinians of all ages against the treachery of the PA for committing to the law of the UN, in place of the law of Allah - and for failing to protect Islam. The people were inspired by the speeches of notable Dawah Carriers and tribal leaders – leaving no doubt about the aims of the international community against Islam and the Muslims worldwide, the failure of secular liberal societies to protect the concept of family life and society, how secular liberalism is pushed through the democratic process, and the clear path to be followed for justice to prevail.

Among the sincere Muslims are scholars, Dawah carriers and parties like Hizb ut Tahrir who challenge every Munkar (evil) and enjoin all that is Ma’ruf (good), for the sake of Allah swt, and out of love for Islam, the believers and even humanity.

(وَدُّواْ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَاء فَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ أَوْلِيَاء حَتَّىَ يُهَاجِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ وَجَدتَّمُوهُمْ وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيًّا وَلاَ نَصِيرًا)

Allah swt says in the Quran, “They wish you would disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so you may all be alike.” (4:89)

So without those who witness the truth, the plethora of poisonous thoughts and devious plans of the Kuffar, behind the carefully crafted conspiracies, although in plain sight would leave the masses oblivious to the ever evolving agenda of the western nations. Now the hyper individualized, super rich also steadily direct the actions of governments to secure resources at the expense of populations for themselves. The expanding face of western imperialism must be recognized however it develops, and challenged with the only true alternative way of life for the whole of mankind which is Islam.
