The most savage of enemies to Islam and the resumption of the Islamic way of life has been the Russian government. Its brutal treatment of Muslims from the days of Stalin to modern day Chechnya proves the malicious hatred the Russian government holds toward Islam.

The recent arrest of 6 members of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Crimea further underscores this point. November 18th, 2019 the Russian government Muslims accused of being involved with Hizb ut-Tahrir under the charge of being involved in “organization of the activities of a terrorist organization.” This is not the first time that they members of Hizb ut-Tahrir have been subjected to such harsh and unjust accusations.

Earlier, on 12 November, 6 Crimean Muslims were sentenced to long terms of imprisonment: Muslim Aliyev was sentenced to 19 years in prison, Inver [Enver] Bekirov received 18 years, Emir-Usein Kuku – 12 years, Vadim Siruk – 12 years, Arsen Dzhepparov – 7 years and Refat Alimov – 8 years. This verdict was the fourth since the annexation of Crimea by Russia since 2014. Russia is the only country in the world that has deemed Hizb ut-Tahrir as a terrorist organization. This pernicious distinction allows the Russian government to treat the members, students, and even supporters of Hizb ut-Tahrir with the harshest of sentences - including electric shock and life sentences in prison.

The beauty, if there is any, of these arrests is the jubilant attitude and sakinah displayed on the faces of these brave young Muslims. Courtroom images reveal beaming faces, confident smiles, and the look of contentment with the decision of Allah and reliance on Him.

As Allah says in Surah “Raa’d”:

(الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللّهِ أَلاَ بِذِكْرِ اللّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ)

“Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (13:28).

They also know Allah the All-Mighty’s words:

(وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ اللّهَ غَافِلاً عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الأَبْصَارُ)

“Consider not that Allah is unaware of that which the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror.” (14:42)

For its part, the US embassy has denounced the unjust arrest of these young men, but it still supports the unjust arrest and torture of Muslims in other nations suchs as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other nations that are loyal to it.

The condemnation of the arrests of the Muslims in Russian and Crimea is not because of a love for Islam, but rather a way to exert pressure on the Russian government and show the Russians in a negative light vis a vis US interests in the region.

Therefore, US condemnations of such abuse and injustice are nothing but empty rhetoric deceptively uttered for political gain. Despite the difficulties and obstacles facing the Muslims in both the Muslim and non-Muslim lands, the tyrants and traitors alike should knowe that true believers will not be bullied or repressed into submission. In fact, the persecution and torment will only strengthen their resolve and draw them closer to their Creator, but it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said:

(اَلَّذِيۡنَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ اِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدۡ جَمَعُوۡا لَـكُمۡ فَاخۡشَوۡهُمۡ فَزَادَهُمۡ اِيۡمَانًا  ۖ وَّقَالُوۡا حَسۡبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعۡمَ الۡوَكِيۡلُ‏)

“Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)” (3:173).
