The trio of environmental diseases—cholera, dengue fever, and malaria—are ravaging people in Khartoum, Al-Jazirah, and Darfur states, amid the appalling negligence and shameful absence of a government that calls itself the "Government of Hope"! What kind of hope is there when people live in an environment unfit even for animals—an environment dominated by disease carriers, including malaria mosquitoes, dengue mosquitoes, and flies?!
Diseases have entered every home, sparing no one, especially in Khartoum, where there is hardly a home without dengue patients. The state, represented by the Ministry of Health, does nothing but count the sick and the dead, and in doing so, they think they are doing well! The government spends money on things that are of no benefit to the people, and wastes public funds on everything except the health of the helpless people of the country! Weren't the expenses and miscellaneous expenses of the delegation that traveled to New York to attend a UN conference useless and without any good expected for the country and its people? Were they not sufficient to spray Khartoum and other infected areas and eliminate the disease carriers?! But why would they do that while they are executioners unleashed on the people's necks, and employees who raise numbers and statistics, and beg from their masters in the World Health Organization and others?!
People relinquished their rights when they allowed politicians like these agents of the capitalist colonial states to usurp their authority and govern them with other than the Islamic system, and so the idea that the state is the one responsible for taking of its citizens’ affairs has disappeared.
Under the Islamic system, the Prophet (saw) paid attention to health and encouraged medical treatment for all. A doctor was gifted to him (saw), which he (saw) made available to the public. The hospital (the treatment tent) was located next to the Prophet's Mosque and was supervised by the venerable female companion Rufaydah al-Aslamiyyah. Throughout its prosperous eras, the Caliphs and Ameers of the Khilafah (Caliphate) established hospitals to treat the sick and provide free treatment to all citizens, regardless of their gender, religion, or sect, whether rich or poor.
The people of Sudan, and the world, are in dire need today of this care and responsibility, which will be undertaken by the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate), the true hope and saviour of humanity.
