Press Release
Only the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood will Stop the Proliferation of Militias and Parallel Armies
The Tamantai Conference announced a military alliance called the Joint Forces of Eastern Sudan Movements, comprising the Beja Congress Unified Command led by Mohamed Tahir; the Eastern Battalion led by Commander Amin Daoud; the Popular Resistance; and the mobilized forces led by Nazir Turk. This announcement comes amid a war that would not have occurred without the existence of a parallel army to the state army; the Rapid Support Forces. This war that has destroyed everything, destroyed the infrastructure, displaced people, violated honour, and killed thousands of innocents, defenseless people in cold blood. After all that has happened, and is still happening, the government still turns a blind eye to the emergence of new armies, and even seeks help from some of them, which encourages anyone and everyone to create a militia and an army parallel to the state army. What is worse is that all these conflicting armies exist under blind banners, either regional or tribal, and although their existence in reality means the destruction of the country, the loss of its unity, and preparing it for the division and fragmentation desired by the kafir colonial West, which began by separating South Sudan, and is now seeking with rapid steps to separate Darfur.
Talking about joint forces in eastern Sudan, which are regional forces, means putting eastern Sudan on the tearing machine. From a Shari’ perspective, it is not permissible for a country to have two armies, let alone armies based on tribal or regional loyalty. The Prophet (saw) said:
«وَمَنْ قَاتَلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ، يَغْضَبُ لِعَصَبَةٍ، أَوْ يَدْعُو إِلَى عَصَبَةٍ، أَوْ يَنْصُرُ عَصَبَةً، فَقُتِلَ، فَقِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ»
“One who fights under the banner of a people who are blind (to the cause for which they are fighting, i.e. do not know whether their cause is just or otherwise), who gets flared up with family or tribal pride, calls (people) to fight for their family or tribal honour, and supports his kith and kin (i.e. fights not for the cause of Allah but for the sake of this family or tribe) - if he is killed (in this fight), he dies as one belonging to the days of Jahiliyya”.
Hizb ut Tahrir has clarified the unity of the army in the Draft Constitution of the Khilafah State, as stated in Article 66 of the Draft Constitution of the Khilafah State: “The Army is a unified entity which has specific bases. However, it is necessary that some of these bases are placed in different provinces and others in strategic locations. Some of the bases should be permanently mobile fighting forces. These bases are organised in numerous groups, with each group being given a number as a name, such as the first Army, the third Army, or they can be named after a province or district.”
We, in Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah of Sudan, affirm that the establishment of armed movements and tribal or regional militias only serves the plot of the kafir (disbelieving) colonialists seeking to tear Sudan apart and fragment it.
We call on the wise people of Sudan to work to thwart the plots of the kafir colonialists and their henchmen within the country, by working diligently with Hizb ut Tahrir—the pioneer who never lies to his people—to establish the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood, which will unify the country, eradicate all this chaos, and even seek to unify it with the rest of the Muslim world.
