The Building of Blocs and Alliances by the US Threatens Regional Stability
News:
On 2 October 2026, the media wing of the armed forces of Pakistan stated that the 277th Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi “strongly resented Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, expressed solidarity with the Kingdom.”
Comment:
Conflict between Muslim states is a tragic consequence of the US policy of bloc and alliance building. On 16 August 2026, Trump posted on Truth Social, “Very happy to see that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have recently, and finally, signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement.” The U.S. builds blocs and alliances between itself and its agents and followers, and amongst its agents and followers, causing regional instability.
The instability in the world caused by the U.S. does not stem from it being a major colonialist power alone. Instead, it also stems from the bloc-building of Washington, to partition interests and benefits. Wherever bloc-building exists, it poses a threat to peace and stability. Indeed, it harms other states, whether minor or major powers. In the current form, the U.S. harnesses the rest of the bloc’s states primarily to achieve its own interests. It monopolizes all or most of the spoils, leaving only a meager fraction for the other bloc members. And, with oceans separating it from the Muslim World, it does not bear the fallout of wars.
Islam rejects blocs and alliances with the disbelieving states. The Prophet (saw) did not ally with tyrants to defeat tyrants. He (saw) dismantled the bloc of the Ahzab (Confederates) led by the Quraysh. He ended the tyranny of the Jews and the mushriks. The Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) of the Companions (ra) did not ally with Rome to defeat Persia. It defeated Persia and then Rome, by building its own power upon the basis of Deen.
The current generation of Muslims must lead a global call to dismantle blocs. It must call for the abolition of alliances with the disbelievers. It must call for the unification of the Muslim states as a single Islamic state, instead of blocs between Muslim states led by the U.S.
O Muslims! Reject the American web of blocs and alliances, which brings harm in Dunya and punishment in the Aakhira.
Reject blocs made by the agents and followers of Trump with the American state itself. The Shariah ruling regarding alliance with the disbelievers who fight the Muslims, and assist others in fighting Muslims, as America does, is that it is forbidden (حرام Haram). Allah (swt) said,
“Allah forbids your alliance with those who fight you because of your Deen, and drive you from your homelands, or aid others to do so: and as for those who turn to them in alliance, they are truly oppressors.” [Surah Al-Mumtahina 60:9].
Reject blocs between Muslim states and demand their unification as a single Islamic State instead. The Shariah ruling regarding the current Muslim states is that their unification as a single Khilafah (Caliphate) is an obligation (فرض Fard). The Prophet (saw) said, «وَإِنَّهُ لاَ نَبِيٌ بَعْدِي وَسَتَكُونُ خُلَفَاءُ فَتَكْثُرُ» “There is no Prophet after me. There will be caliphs in large numbers.” His Companions (ra) said, فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا قَالَ “What do you order us to do?” He said, «فُوا بِبَيْعَةِ الأَوَّلِ فَالأَوَّلِ» “Give bay’ah to only one, at a time,” as narrated by Muslim.
Imam An-Nawawi said in his Sharh of Muslim that, وَمَعْنَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ إِذَا بُويِعَ لِخَلِيفَةٍ بَعْدَ خَلِيفَةٍ فَبَيْعَةُ الْأَوَّلِ صَحِيحَةٌ يَجِبُ الْوَفَاءُ بِهَا وَبَيْعَةُ الثَّانِي بَاطِلَةٌ يَحْرُمُ الْوَفَاءُ بِهَا وَيَحْرُمُ عَلَيْهِ طَلَبُهَا وَسَوَاءٌ عَقَدُوا لِلثَّانِي عَالِمِينَ بِعَقْدِ الأول جَاهِلِينَ وَسَوَاءٌ كَانَا فِي بَلَدَيْنِ أَوْ بَلَدٍ أَوْ أَحَدُهُمَا فِي بَلَدِ الْإِمَامِ الْمُنْفَصِلِ “If a Khaleefah (caliph) is given bay’ah after another Khaleefah has already been appointed, then the first appointment is valid. It must be fulfilled. The second is invalid. It is forbidden to fulfil it. It is forbidden for him to demand that fulfilment. This is irrespective of whether the Muslims knew of the first Khaleefah or not. It is irrespective of whether they were in the same or different lands, or one of them was in a land totally separated from the other.”
