A Statement from the Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Uzbekistan Regarding the Arrest of Abdul Aziz Abdul Jalilov

On October 30, 2025, Abdul Aziz Abdul Jalilov, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir from Uzbekistan, was arrested at the Swedish Migration Agency in Stockholm.

To our knowledge, the Migration Agency has decided to deport Brother Abdul Aziz to Uzbekistan.

In this regard, we would like to draw the Swedish Migration Agency's attention to the following:

First: Hizb ut Tahrir is an Islamic political party whose activities are limited exclusively to intellectual and political work, and it avoids all forms of violence.

Second: The banning of Hizb ut Tahrir and the persecution of its members in Uzbekistan are purely political in nature, as declared by numerous experts and human rights defenders.

Third: For many years in Uzbekistan, thousands of our Shabab (members) have been arrested, and hundreds have died under torture. Many remain imprisoned to this day. This year, numerous trials of our Shabab have been held, and they have once again been sentenced to long prison terms.

Fourth: Deporting Brother Abdul Aziz to Uzbekistan means that he will face, at the very least, imprisonment and torture!

Therefore, we demand that you cancel Abdul Aziz's deportation and release him immediately.
