It has been reported that some so-called called immigrant Copts (namely Copts who were under a covenant of protection of Egypt's Muslims and immigrated to America) were amongst those who produced a film about the Prophet - sallallahu alaihi wassalam - peace be upon him - abusing him in it.

A joint meeting of the Peoples' Assembly and the Shura Council (in Egypt) voted that the constitution drafting committee would be composed by 50% parliamentarians and 50% people from outside parliament, made up of public figures, organizations and institutions.

The central political debate these days in Egypt revolves around the forthcoming constitution. The political parties, and the liberal forces in addition to the ruling military council do not want (and there is no question in this) an Islamic constitution which reflects the feelings of the great majority of the people of Egypt who yearn for the rule of Islam via the Islamic Khilafah "Caliphate" state.
