Reading the history of the Muslim Ummah, one will see the great conquest that it went through, that no other nation has experienced. The Muslims came out of the Arabian Peninsula and fought the major empires in the world at the same time, the Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire and the Persian Empire. Pakistan can never emerge from its recurrent crises, if it limits itself to the two conventional options, parliamentary democracy and presidential democracy. This limited, loaded debate only benefits the current political and military leaderships. Until the Muslims turn their backs on Democracy and strive for the Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate) State, they can only look forwards to the next crisis.
