 Nafsiya Reflections: New World

How does this all impact us as an Ummah? Or more precisely what effects does it have on our mentality? Inaction! It is as if none of this is in our hands, that there is nothing we can do, but surrender to reality and sit sedentary waiting for a miracle.

Despair! This is what the West wants to instill in us. A feeling of hopelessness that we are incapable of bringing change, that we are weak. The Ummah of a billion, like the froth of the sea. Worthless!

Lost history! An eternity between who we once were and who we are now. What we had once lived as an Ummah and our current reality today. As if the great men and women of this Ummah only lived once, if the breath of Islam does not live in us today. The strength of who we are, the strength of knowing we are the followers, the loved ones of Rasool Allah (saw). The ones who believed in him without laying eyes on him. The enemies of Allah (swt) want us to forget who we are and where we came from, but most importantly where we as an Ummah are heading. We are living in a time of modern Jahiliyah (ignorance), as we may call it. A time where the acts of Islam are targeted. When labels are being slapped on anything.

Manipulation! [يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ]

O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. [Surah Muhammad: Aya 7]

Then arise the true men of this Ummah. The men who believe in Allah (swt) and Messenger (saw). The ones with fire, ones who are burning with the desire to take this Ummah out of the depths of oppression, ignorance, humiliation in order to rise above all that had once paralyzed and crippled this Ummah from moving. To be the men of this great Ummah, the lions of this Ummah, the army of Muhammad (saw), the soldiers of Allah (swt) having the bravery of Umar ibn al Khattab (ra), he publicly declared the intention of immigrating to Madinah. The comment of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (ra) on the migration of 'Umar (ra): I never knew anyone migrated unless secretly except 'Umar, for he, when he resolved on migration, girt on his sword and slung over his bow and grasped in his hand its arrows, and went to the Ka'bah where in its quadrangle were the chiefs of the Quraysh, and he went round about it seven times, then prayed two rak'ahs at the Station of Ibrahim, and went to each, one by one, in their circles and said, “May the faces be foul! If anyone desires that his mother be bereaved of him and his child be left an orphan and his wife a widow, and if there be such a one, let him meet me behind this valley.” But no one followed him.

The fearlessness of of Khubayb bin 'Adiyy when he was captured by Quraish and was sentenced to execution at which he asked to pray two raqa’at, after which he said: 'Had I not feared that you would think that I was afraid (of being executed), I would have prolonged the prayer.’ The faith and steadfastness of Anas ibn An-Nadr; Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: My uncle Anas ibn An-Nadr (may Allah be pleased with him) did not take part in the battle of Badr; so he said: "O Messenger of Allah, I was absent from the first battle you fought against the polytheists. If Allah gives me a chance to fight them, no doubt, Allah will show how (bravely) I will fight." So, on the day of the battle of Uhud, when the Muslims left their posts and were defeated, he said: "O Allah, I apologize to You for what these (i.e. his companions) have done, and I denounce what these (i.e. the polytheists) have done." Then he advanced with his sword and met Sa‘d ibn Mu‘ādh passing in front of him so he said to him: 'O Sa‘d ibn Mu‘ādh, the Paradise, by the Lord of the Ka‘bah, I smell the fragrance of Paradise near Mount Uhud." Sa‘d later said: "O Messenger of Allah, what he did was beyond my power." Anas said: "We found over eighty wounds on his body caused by swords, spears, and arrows. He was killed and mutilated by the polytheists to the extent that no one was able to recognize him except his sister, from his fingertips. We believe that the Qur'anic verse:

[مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌۭ صَدَقُوا۟ مَا عَـٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُۥ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ ۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبْدِيلًۭا]

"Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration" [Sūrat al-Ahzāb: Aya 23] refers to him and the likes of him." [Authentic hadith] - [Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim]

Men with the likes of these great companions live among us today! Struggling to defend the Messenger (saw) and Allah (swt) to be the protectors of this great Deen! Burning with the desire to save their brothers and sisters! It is these men that will stand with the angels side by side fighting till the end of these injustices... This day is coming. In sha’ Allah, very soon. The end of this oppression... and the beginning of a new world order.
