The office of the Pakistani Prime Minister said in a statement issued on Tuesday 20 May 2025 that Pakistan's Army Chief, Asim Munir, will be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal, the first time in nearly 60 years that a general has been elevated to this rank.

According to the statement, the promotion approved by the Cabinet under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is in recognition of “strategic brilliance and courageous leadership that ensured national security and decisively defeated the enemy,” coming just days after the worst military conflict with India in three decades.

A security official stated that the rank of “Field Marshal” is an honorary five-star designation, signifying extraordinary command and “great” achievements in wartime.

First: The true victors are the Pakistan Air Force falcons and battlefield heroes.

Those who truly deserve promotions and honors are the Pakistani Air Force pilots who outperformed the enemy of Allah (swt) and the Muslims, the arrogant Hindu state. As for those who squandered the victory, content with mere self-defense without investing the gains for more, and who halted the offensive at the first command from their master in the White House, they are nothing but partners in laying waste to a historic opportunity!

It was the duty of the military and political leadership to force India to withdraw from Kashmir, and return to the previous terms of the water treaty, not to yield to an American phone call, and halt the fighting at the brink of victory!

And so, just as Pervez Musharraf and Nawaz Sharif squandered the Kargil Heights victory in 1999 by withdrawing from strategic heights on American orders, today they repeat the exact same scenario. Victory is achieved on the battlefield only to be wasted in negotiations and under foreign commands!

Second: How much today resembles the past!

The Pakistani army leadership knows full well how the Egyptian army once broke through the Bar Lev Line, that symbol which shattered the myth of the “invincible” army of the Jewish entity, just as Modi today boasts of the Indian army's invincibility. Yet the Egyptian leadership at the time failed to invest the victory for greater victory and halted the advance, the result: the treacherous Camp David Accords!

The difference, however, is that General Saad El-Shazly, Egypt’s Chief of Staff at the time, refused to submit. He was a man of dignity who held the political and military leadership accountable for squandering the victory, and rejected the claim that simply crossing the canal was a complete triumph.

However, today, the Pakistani army leadership not only squanders victory, it celebrates what isn’t theirs and rewards those who wasted the opportunity with honorary promotions! Will a new treacherous agreement follow the ceasefire? Are we about to witness a Pakistani version of Camp David or Oslo, cementing India’s occupation of Kashmir?

Third: A leadership celebrating a victory it didn’t achieve!

Just as Egypt celebrates a partial victory each year while ignoring the betrayal of the Blessed Land, the Pakistani leadership now celebrates and decorates the chests of failures with medals all while shamefully ignoring how it squandered the opportunity created by the true falcons of the skies and lions of the land, within the Pakistani military.

Not only that, this leadership also brushes aside its own previous admission that its mission is to carry out America's “dirty work,” not to champion the Ummah! And now it tries to leap forward, forgetting that nothing has actually changed: India still occupies Kashmir, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, and yet the leadership applauds itself!

]أَلَا سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ [“Evil is what they decide.” [TMQ Surah An-Nahl 16:59]

Fourth: O Falcons and Lions of the Pakistani armed forces… don’t let your victory be stolen!

O Lions from among the sons of the Pakistani Armed Forces, you who achieved victories in the skies and on the battlefield do not allow your commanders to steal your triumph or sell it in the American markets of humiliation!

The time has come to replace this political and military leadership with Hizb ut Tahrir, the sincere party carrying the project of the Second Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, a leadership that will guide you to complete victory: the liberation (tahrir) of Kashmir and Palestine, and the Conquest of India (Ghazwa e Hind). Not to a disgraceful ceasefire whose fruits are reaped by Modi, Trump, Shehbaz, and Munir.

And know, O sincere ones of the Pakistani armed forces, that with every day you remain silent about these treacherous leaders, there will come more betrayal, more neglect of Kashmir, of Palestine, and of your great Ummah. So take action… succeed in this world, and earn the pleasure of Allah in the Hereafter.

[وَقُلِ اعْمَلُوا فَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَسَتُرَدُّونَ إِلَى عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ]

“Tell them, O Prophet, “Do as you will. Your deeds will be observed by Allah, His Messenger, and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the seen and unseen, then He will inform you of what you used to do.” [TMQ Surah At-Tawbah 9:105]
