Hizb ut Tahrir / America: Eid al-Fitr 1447 Message!
This blessed Eid arrives at a time when our hearts are heavy and our Ummah stands at one of its lowest points. Across the world, the suffering of Muslims unfolds before our eyes—genocide in Gaza, slaughter in Sudan, and aggression against the people of Iran. On every inch of this earth, the Ummah bleeds.
We have reached a moment in which some accepthumiliation—willing to surrender their zakat to theirenemies as a form of jizyah. Our blood has been cheapened—by those who oppose us, and sadly, at times, by our ownhands. This is the very blood whose sanctity was declared bythe Messenger of Allah ﷺ:
[كُلُّ الْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَامٌ: دَمُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَعِرْضُهُ]
“Everything of a Muslim is sacred to another Muslim: his blood, his wealth, and his honor.”
Enough is enough…
How much longer will we watch this suffering unfold?
We have witnessed how our enemies see us as one body even while we see ourselves as fragments—separated by borders and divided by flags. These divisions were created to weaken our resolve, exploit our resources, and violate our lands. Yet this very division is a violation of our deen.
Allah says:
[وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا]
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.”
The Ummah can no longer afford to abandon the noble and obligatory work of restoring the Islamic way of life and protecting the blood and dignity of this Ummah.
And yet—despite the pain, despite the trials—we still extend our warmest greetings to you and your loved ones on this blessed day.
May Allah accept our fasting, our prayers, and our duʿāʾ. May He have honored us with Laylat al-Qadr, and may He grant us His complete forgiveness and mercy.
We do not ask that you abandon the celebration of Eid. Rather, our obedience to Allah itself is an act of defiance against falsehood. To honor what Allah has made sacred is a sign of Taqwa.
Allah says:
[ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَىالْقُلُوبِ]
“That is so. And whoever honors the symbols of Allah—indeed, it is from the piety of the hearts.”
So celebrate this Eid—but celebrate it with awareness. Celebrate it with hearts that feel the pain of the Ummah, with minds that recognize the depth of our challenges, and with the determination to pursue the correct path forward.
Let this Eid not only be a day of joy—but also a moment of awakening. Let it inspire us to work more sincerely, more courageously, and more diligently until the Ummah once again regains its shield and protection– A Khilafah on the footsteps of Prophethood.
Eid Mubarak wa Kul am wa antum bi khair.
