Democracy Tried to Demonstrate Women’s Rights and Supports Everything Wrong
News:
The BBC reported that British MP Steve Reed expressed outrage after learning that a charity run in Victoria Park, east London, excluded women from participation. The 5-kilometer race, organized by East London Mosque (ELM), drew hundreds of participants but restricted entry to men, boys, and girls under 12, despite being marketed as "inclusive."
MP Steve Reed condemned the gender restriction as "absolutely unacceptable" during an LBC Radio interview, stating he was "horrified and appalled" by the exclusion. He indicated the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) would investigate the matter, with potential sanctions to follow.
"We do not want a situation in this country where men are allowed to do things that women are then barred from. We cannot tolerate that," Reed emphasized, particularly criticizing the use of public space for a gender-restricted event.
Tower Hamlets Mayor Lutfur Rahman was quoted on the mosque's website, congratulating participants, "especially to the youngsters and the elders and the community at large for participating today," without addressing the gender restrictions.
The mosque, which describes the annual fundraiser as a key event in the East London Muslim calendar raising funds for youth projects and refugee support, has not directly responded to criticism but highlighted its commitment to supporting women in various sporting activities. The council has requested urgent clarification.
Comment:
The duplicity in the minister's words is quite staggering! Here we have fake deep concern for the inclusion of Muslim women in the UK and anger at how they may not be able to "run" in London.
Yet, this same minister supports a government that has armed and condoned the murder and starvation of tens of thousands of Muslim women in Gaza.
These women and children are forced to run from the oppression and slaughter that is decades old.
These sisters are forced to run, carrying their children and a few belongings.
These mothers have no choice but to run away from their properties and wealth left behind to be pillaged by the enemies of Islam.
Grandmothers are forced to run from their comfort and face unbearable fear and hardship.
The daughters of this ummah are running from their education and degree as universities and schools turn into mass graves.
Our pious females run alone, disabled socially when all of their male guardians are detained, tortured or kidnapped.
Journalists on social media have documented little boys and girls carrying their baby brothers and sisters for miles when they are separated from their families. They do not know where they are running to or who they can find to help them. They run out of instinct to survive, and most will still have their lives cut short with sickness or lack of medication, food, and water.
The additional nonsense of these "empowerment" comments from secular politicians worshipping Capitalism is that they see no complaint from the Muslim women themselves. They are quite happy looking after their honor and dignity.
However, when Muslim women actually do speak up for their rights, they are ignored by Western interests seeking only to value "human rights" on a loss and gain colonialist basis.
We must remember the advice of Allah (swt) when he warns us of the enemy in disguise;
“And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up – they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah destroy them; how are they deluded?” [TMQ Surah Al-Munafiqun: 4].
We must surely warn our youth to be vigilant of the snake-like agendas that seem to do well but are designed only for distraction and harm.
