Raheel-Nawaz Regime Continue Holding Pakistan Hostage to IMF

The IMF Fund ‘mission’ gave the go-ahead over the weekend of 8 and 9 November to release the fifth tranche of $1.1 billion to Pakistan in spite of the Government missing three performance indicators. This type of action shows that the IMF is eager to give Pakistan money, as much as the rulers are eager to take it for their own corrupt intents. This is because it is in the IMF’s (and the western powers who run it) interest to give such ‘aid’.

It is well known that these funds are given with strings attached (‘structural reforms’) that are ruinous for the countries that take them. The aim of the IMF is but to fashion the economies of third-world countries into suitable markets to be exploited by economic powers such as the US. The logic of structural reforms towards liberalisation and free trade is attractive but deceptive. What eventuates is ‘competition’ between well-established powerful economies and weak economies – the result should be obvious: the hyena ravages the prey!

That IMF ‘assistance’ is poison disguised as medicine is proved by the fact that no country struggling economically has been revived through IMF assistance. The IMF and World Banks are but tools of capitalist exploitation. Only Islam and the Islamic economic system can bring true economic progress in Pakistan.

Regime and Opposition Play Fiddle as Pakistan Burns

The regime and opposition are locked in a new battle over elections and their examination by a commission and whether or not intelligence officials should be included. “During talks between the government and the PTI it was decided that a judicial commission would be formed and assistance from any institution might be taken under the constitution,” Imran Khan said while addressing participants of his party’s sit-in in Islamabad on 10 November.

Whilst the regime and opposition are tussling who should now take their turn to rule through Democracy, Pakistan is being destroyed by the fires created by Democracy. With regards to Economy, the Kufr Capitalist laws are implemented by Democracy, leading to immense concentration of wealth in the hands of the rulers and their cronies, whilst tens of millions of people suffer growing poverty. With regards to Foreign Policy, the Kufr concept of nation states is implemented by Democracy, dividing Muslim Lands into pieces whilst forging strong ties with hostile nations such as India and America. With regards to Ruling, Democracy prevents the implementation of Islam as it gives Sovereignty to an assembly of human beings, rather than ensuring that the sole Sovereign is Allah سبحانه وتعالى and the constitution is derived solely from Quran and Sunnah.

It is upon Muslims to turn their backs on Democracy and its adherents and join Hizb ut-Tahrir to establish the Khilafah, which will implement Islam exclusively. Only then will the Muslims have rulers and elected assemblies that please them by striving to please Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,

فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَاءَكَ مِنْ الْحَقِّ

“So judge among them by what Allah has revealed and follow not their vain desires from what came to you of Truth.”

(Surah Al Maaida 5:48)

Privatization of Energy Sector is Opening the Doors for Disaster

On 11 November, Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, stated whilst in Germany, “There is a lot of interest of German businessmen in Pakistan’s energy sector and the government is aggressively pursuing the policy of attracting foreign investors.” However, far from saving Pakistan’s economy, privatization of Pakistan’s energy sector is damaging it.

The IMF, the World Bank and the Raheel-Nawaz regime work together to continuously raise the prices of gas and electricity, in order to guarantee strong profits for the new private owners, even though it causes great hardship for the people. Privatization has also led to crippling power shortages of several hours every day, because private owners are under-producing when they cannot make good profits. Moreover, when the private owners are foreign, they do not care for strengthening the local economy. Instead, they are bound by their own governments or colonialist institution to ensure that Pakistan does not compete effectively globally. So, foreign companies are continuously securing great profits, whilst local industry and agriculture falters and collapses, unemployment soars and the backs of the people break with every increasing costs of electricity and gas.

The cure to Pakistan’s economic illness does not lie in privatization or foreign investment. The only cure is the implementation of Islam’s economic system, which alone would generate more than enough revenue to revolutionize the economy. Islam has declared that energy is neither a private nor a state property but a public property for all the Muslims. RasulAllah صلى الله عليه وسلم said,

«المسلمون شرکاء فی ثلاث الماء والکلاء والنار»

“Muslims are partners in three things: water, pastures and fire (energy).” [Abu Dawood]

Thus, its revenues are for the public, looking after its affairs and securing its interests, and not for the state or private companies.

Pakistan and Afghanistan Should be Under One Khaleefah

“On the invitation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the President of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, would be visiting Pakistan on 14-15 November 2014,” Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said on 13 November. “The visit of President Ghani will help advance this process of consolidation and further expansion of Pakistan-Afghanistan relations, to the mutual benefit of the two countries and of peace, stability and development in the region,” the spokesperson noted.

How is it in the mutual benefit of the Muslims of Afghanistan and Pakistan to be divided and weakened before their mutual enemies India and America? How can either country find peace whilst the disruptive, scheming and violent American presence remains in both countries? How can either country know of stability when Kufr is implemented in every sphere of life from ruling and judiciary, to health and education? And how can either country know of development when the existing capitalist order exploits the resources of both these Muslim Lands and destroys the local industrial and agricultural capacity?

The existing rulers are a burden upon the Muslim Ummah. They give lip-service to the desires of the Muslims but maintain Kufr rule and division of Muslim Lands which ensure that these desires will never be fulfilled. The need of the time is for the Muslims to establish the Khilafah which will seize these tyrants and bring them to trial for their crimes. The Khilafah will eradicate all borders that divide Muslims, gathering their strength as one powerful state. It will end all relations with belligerent hostile states and adopt a war stance with them. And the Khilafah will ensure that the Muslims benefit from the guidance of Islam by implementing a constitution derived exclusively from the Quran and the Sunnah.

Reforming Elections in Democracy is not enough – Abolish Democracy

The Dawn reported on 16 November, “The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has empowered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to suspend any officer — who is performing election duties or is a public functionary — for being involved in influencing the result of local government elections in the province.” The government and the opposition have locked horns over the validity of elections in the current system of Democracy. However, they are leaving the people behind, because the majority of people have expressed that they want neither democracy nor dictatorship. They want Islam as a system and constitution. Even if there were entirely free and fair elections in the current Democracy, the people will suffer the consequence of ruling by other than Islam.

The current secular constitution gives rise to the ruling system of democracy, which assigns assemblies of men and women as sovereign, allowing them to choose laws according to their whims and desires, even though Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,

“And judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires, and beware (O Muhammad) that they might seduce you from some of what Allah has sent down to you.”

(Surah Al-Maaida 5:49)

It is this democracy gives the right to any ruler, minister or member of assembly to choose to command what Allah سبحانه وتعالى has forbidden or to choose to forbid what Allah سبحانه وتعالى has commanded. It is the Khilafah alone whose constitution is established on the revealed sources, the Quran and the Sunnah. Neither the elected Khaleefah nor the elected men and women of the Majlis-e-Ummah have any choice in referring to Islam, for they must always refer to Islam.
