The Islamic Aqeedah is a Spiritual & Political Aqeedah

An Aqeedah is spiritual when it has views and rules about the affairs of the hereafter, whereas an Aqeedah is political when it has rules and views that govern life. So Christianity has views and rules about the hereafter and what came before life, whereas Capitalism has rules that govern the affairs of life like trade, inheritance, government and accounting the ruler.

As for the Islamic Aqeedah, it is truly unique; it is a spiritual and political Aqeedah. From the Islamic Aqeedah emanates thoughts and rules related to the hereafter and also thoughts and rules related to life’s affairs. So Muslims believe in the Day of Judgment, in heaven and hell, in angels and in Allah سبحانه وتعالى. They also believe in the rules of inheritance, marriage, governance, Jihad and economics hence the Islamic Aqeedah is a spiritual and political Aqeedah.

However the Islamic Aqeedah ceased to be a political Aqeedah after the destruction of the Islamic State. The systems which emanated from the Aqeedah were abandoned due to the Western cultural onslaught, and the ink which elaborated on the systems dried, and the books gained dust, and were forgotten and left by the ummah. The Ulema stopped writing about the political Aqeedah of Islam hence the ummah looked to other political Aqeedahs to deal with the affairs of life.

What exacerbate the situation even more was that the Muslims wrote about the spiritual Aqeedah, while neglecting the political Aqeedah, and they wrote about the spiritual Aqeedah and they wrote in general and detail, where the pages became books and the books became volumes and the volumes became encyclopaedic, but no mention was made about the political Aqeedah until it was forgotten.

The talks about the Aqeedah became academic with no relevance to life, it went to depth about the details, but it brought no change in the people’s affairs until the ummah could see no relevance for the Aqeedah in life, so like beggars we looked to other political Aqeedahs to solve our problems. But these political Aqeedahs, whether Capitalism or Communism, brought more misery and destruction to the ummah.

“And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a miserable life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind.” (Quran 20:124)

The Islamic Aqeedah is political and spiritual and the systems that emanate from the Aqeedah must be implemented, otherwise what does it say about our Aqeedah, that we believe in the spiritual Aqeedah but have abandoned the systems that emanate from it, we do not want to be those who take half of the Aqeedah and leave the rest.

أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ

“So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in the rest?” (Quran 2:85)

So this ummah must plunge itself into the work of implementing the political Aqeedah in life and the systems that emanate from it under the shade of the Khilafah so that this noble ummah may establish the Islamic Aqeedah in life and carry it to the rest of the world.
