On Friday the 7th of November 2014, all parties in the City Council of Copenhagen agreed on a new four year integration plan. As usual, there is focus on what they describe as “prevention and handling of radicalization among the youth”, but it was adopted as an amendment to the original draft, “that the number of people in Copenhagen who adhere to sharia law must decrease.” Furthermore it was it was adopted as an amendment, “that the proportion of people of Copenhagen, who consider themselves as democratic, has to increase.”
Among a number of initiatives, they are expanding the city council’s anonymous questionnaire, targeted at Copenhagen youth between 18 and 29, with “non-western background”, a term referring to Muslims. The expansion means that they now also ask how young Muslims position themselves concerning “fundamental democratic values”.
They are not trying to hide what this is going to be used for, because in the agreement is a direct attack against Muslims in this country, since it amongst other things is going to fight the idea of sharia, which is the term for “the collection of Islamic laws and rules”.
Rasmus Jarlov (Konservative) says in this connection, “With these new questions, we choose side in the debate of values and say that democracy is better than religious dogmatism, where you find your answers in a book…”
The Mayor of Integration, Anne Mee Allerslev (Radikale Venstre) also states: “It is relevant to see how many young people we have a problem with regarding radicalization…” And she continues, “We, as City Council, have to be able to talk about these problems and be able to solve it in corporation with PET (Danish secret service) and the police…”
You are considered a security threat, which has to be handled by secret services and police if you, as a Muslim, are not convinced of secularism, but adhere to the Law of Allah (swt). And the preventive work has to penetrate all the way down to elementary school, where they will “proselytize”, so that young Muslims can be indoctrinated with western values until they give up on their Islam.
We, in Hizb ut Tahrir, have a stated purpose of protecting Islam and to have Muslims hold on to their Islamic values. We have therefore repeatedly exposed the attacks from Danish politicians against Islam and Muslims, and this time will be no exception.
Let it be completely clear to all politicians in the city of Copenhagen and elsewhere, that Sharia is a fundamental element in Islam, and that the Muslims will never reject Sharia for anything else. At the same time let it be completely clear, that we in Hizb ut Tahrir will lead the way, expose your fawn plans, and reveal all your initiatives. No matter how many millions you spend, this is a battle you will never win.
