Hizb ut Tahrir Tunisia Organizes Several Activities on Kerkennah Island

Hizb ut Tahrir / Tunisia organized a symbolic protest stand titled “Only the Khilafah is able to Retrieve the Resources” in Al Ramlah on Kurkana Island. It started at 6 pm on Saturday, 23 August, 2014 where a large number of participants from Hizb ut Tahrir and its supporters carried banners such as: “Kurkana: Is it a tourist area or an oil and gas field?”, “Elections: Wasting the legislative resources and the internal revolution,” “People are partners in three things: Water, Pasture, and Fire,” “O Kurkana, Wake up! Wake up! Petrofac is robbing you,” “The Technocrat government and a crisis group are pushing the country into a crisis.”

Mr. Makki bin Saed gave a speech highlighting in it that Tunisia is not a poor country, but it is a plundered country. He indicated that the share of the people of Kurkana in Petrofac company’s revenue, which should be “guaranteed in a contract with the company”, is estimated to be 3% from the total profit and this is enough to provide care and sustenance for the people of Kurkana, but in reality it’s not.

In addition, the Official Spokesperson, Mr. Ridha Belhaj gave a speech insisted that politics, relationships and all sorts of trades are all bound by compromises and conciliations. He also added that what these intercontinental companies are robbing can not only take care of the people, but it also can develop Mars. As such, the protest of the people of Kurkana today is to communicate what the people in the South have done by insistently demanding for their rightful share of the resource.

Starting from 10 pm, Hizb ut Tahrir held an intellectual and political seminar titled “The Resources of the Ummah – Between the Justice in Islam and the Crime of Secularism” in Al Ataya region in Kurkana. It was very well attended by the people of the Island, it showcased pictures of how the resources are being robbed, and it included a book fair. In addition, protest banners were raised to oppose the plunder of the country’s resources by the colonial companies raiding the area.

The seminar commenced with playing a video tape showing how much the colonial companies have robbed the country’s resources and the extent of submissiveness of the government and the constitutive council for colonialism. Afterwards, the opening speech was delivered by Engineer Fathi Al Marwani, member of the administrative body of Hizb ut Tahrir / Tunisia, titled “The Resources of the Ummah – Between Plunder and Deception” where he showed that talking about the existence of a great resource in this country is an inevitable truth. He also displayed statistics and several evidences as examples to show the extent of the plunder of the country’s resources. In addition, Al Marwani explained that these companies have crossed the line in robbing the resources and they have placed policies which interfere in the constitution but make its thefts legal with protection provided by the government, which is an agent for these companies.

After that, Mahran Al May, member of Hizb ut Tahrir, gave a speech titled “The Rulings in Islam bring Justice and Security to Mankind,” where he emphasized that justice in Islam is an ideological certainty and a reality, and it’s neither imagination nor philosophy. He spoke how by the implementation of the rulings in Islam and taking care of the people that justice and security are achieved. He also assured that the great religion of Islam has an original and detailed economical system that assures the right for a decent living for every individual, and he showed some of its elements in his speech.

The speeches were concluded with a final word from Mr. Ridha Belhaj, the Official Spokesperson of Hizb ut Tahrir / Tunisia, where he thanked the people of Kurkana Island for their resolution, steadfastness, and will while probing the most dangerous of cases: the case of resources, and by that they have brought back a new spirit for the revolution in Allah’s سبحانه وتعالى Will. Belhaj also showed that Islam has a legislative resource capable of taking care of the people, and he showed that the battle today is between the great religion of Islam and the secular system that hides behind different names such as democracy, patriotism, and nationalism, but it’s a miscreant secular system that separates religion from life. In addition, he emphasized in his speech the inability of this government and its failure to run the country by considering the declarations of the temporary Prime Minister Mahdi Jumaa that there is no corruption in the energy file, to be degrading and insulting. The Official Spokesperson ended his speech by laying a broad action plan to retrieve the resources of the people of the country.
